Welder

Your new company A well-established and highly successful engineering and manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Fabrication Welder to join its growing production team in Newtownabbey. You'll work with in a busy fabrication environment producing high-quality components for a diverse range of engineering projects. Your new role Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for carrying out fabrication and MIG welding duties to engineering drawings and key responsibilities will include: MIG welding of mild steel components Producing high-quality welds to engineering drawings and specifications Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, shop orders and technical information Preparing materials using grinding, drilling, milling, tapping and cutting techniques Inspecting welds to ensure accuracy and quality Carrying out first-off and in-process quality inspections Setting up and safely operating welding and fabrication equipment Working to production schedules and agreed output targets Supporting the development of jigs and fixtures to improve accuracy and efficiency Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and 5S Carrying out routine preventative maintenance on equipment Supporting continuous improvement activities across the fabrication area

Hours:

Mon - Thurs 6am - 3pm and Fri 6am - 12pm What you'll need to succeed Ideally, you will have:

Previous MIG welding experience, ideally working with mild steel The ability to confidently read and work from engineering drawings Good fabrication and metal preparation skills A strong focus on quality, health and safety The ability to work effectively within a busy manufacturing environment Successful candidates will be required to complete a fabrication and weld test as part of the recruitment process.
