Quality Inspector – Bath

Location: Bath

Contract type: Permanent.

We are seeking an experienced APQP Quality Inspector with an engineering background to work a 3‑shift rotation. The role involves central and goods inwards inspection activities, product and process audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities – Quality Inspector
  • Carry out inspection of First‑off items and supplied goods using manual gauging, CMM and surface testing equipment.
  • Perform in‑process inspection audits and provide constructive feedback to machine shop and assembly staff.
  • Monitor the condition of inspection gauging and ensure calibration in line with the schedule.
  • Liaise with Manufacturing Engineering during process development to capture inspection requirements early.
  • Utilise MSA and SPC to drive ongoing process improvements.
  • Provide training on inspection processes and equipment as needed.
  • Support Engineering with new product and new process introductions.
  • Implement and maintain systems and procedures to ensure compliance with AS EN 9100, ISO 9001, PED directive and any project‑specific quality requirements.
  • Undertake additional duties as required by the company.
  • Review final and stage drawings prior to release into production.
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate documentation to aid product traceability.
Qualifications & Requirements – Quality Inspector
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 (AS 9100:2009 preferred).
  • Extensive knowledge of metrology processes and experience with CMM systems (VDMIS, Camio).
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, including geometric tolerancing.
  • Experience working in a multi‑project, fast‑paced environment.
  • Computer literacy with MS Excel, MS Word and MS Project.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels.
  • Eligibility for a UK SC clearance.
  • Desirable experience with industrial MRP, MRP‑II or ERP tools (e.g., Syteline).
