Head of Trusts Tax Accountant – Trusts & Personal Tax Bury St Edmunds – Competitive Salary A highly regarded specialist team is seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join its growing Tax & Trusts offering, based in Bury St Edmunds with flexibility to work from other offices when required. This is a role for someone who enjoys complex, meaningful work and wants to contribute to a team that values expertise, collaboration and professional development.

A competitive salary is offered in line with experience. The team supports private clients, executors and trustees with all aspects of personal tax affairs and trust administration, removing the stress of annual accounts, tax returns, HMRC compliance and day‑to‑day beneficiary requests. In this position, you will lead a dedicated team, shaping the technical direction of the department while working closely with the wider Lifetime Planning practice.

You will advise on:
Income tax Capital gains tax Inheritance tax SDLT Complex non‑resident or non‑domicile matters You will prepare:
Estate accounts Trust accounts Self‑assessment returns IHT forms This role also involves cross‑department collaboration with French Legal, Agriculture & Estates, Business, Residential Property and Family teams, reflecting the diverse needs of the client base. Strong leadership skills, excellent communication and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion are essential. AAT, ATT, ACA, ACCA or TEP qualification is required, along with experience in complex estate and trust accounting.
