Process and General Operator

Process & General Assembler – a role within Thales’ manufacturing team in Crossgar. You will mechanically assemble and electrically test products while meeting quality, cost and schedule targets.

• Assemble products in accordance with the production schedule, focusing on quality, cost and schedule.
• Perform mechanical assembly, electrical testing, basic soldering, product packaging and paint preparation.
• Handle materials, maintain tools, work instructions and equipment to correct standards.
• Maintain a clean, organised work station and overall working area.
• Record production builds and work independently for periods of time.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects and liaise with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering and management.
• Support e‑HR activities with manager, ensuring personal development plans are in place.
• Adhere to departmental control procedures and safety, cost, quality and schedule requirements.
• Assist in other areas of the site when required by management to meet production schedules.

• Previous experience of mechanical or process assembly in a manufacturing environment.
• Manual dexterity and ability to use small hand tools and measuring equipment (feeler gauges, clock gauges, torque tools).
• Read and interpret manufacturing instruction sheets and basic engineering drawings.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing and business improvement techniques.
• Reliable team player capable of working independently.
• Willingness to work flexible shift patterns and overtime.

This role requires Security Clearance (SC). Existing SC clearance is preferred, but a successful applicant will need to obtain and maintain SC clearance prior to commencing employment.
