Summary

From our Head Office to the shop floor and everywhere in between our primary goal is to create and deliver a fantastic customer journey for everyone who shops at Lidl.

Pay

Earn £13.30 per hour.

Hours

Flexible hours: 10, 20, 30, or 35 hours per week. On a standard 30‑hour contract you’ll earn £490+ per week (inclusive of unsocial hours). Weekend work is an option. We tailor a shift pattern that fits your needs.

Legal Requirement

As a Customer Assistant you are required to sell alcohol, therefore you must be 18 or over.

Shift Patterns
  • Morning shift:
    Starting at 5 am or 6 am, stocking award‑winning products and bakery items by opening time.
  • Middle shift:
    Mid‑morning or early afternoon; cleaning, presenting, restocking, assisting customers, and working tills.
  • Late shift:
    Afternoon start; serving customers at the tills, restocking, and preparing the store for the next day.
What you'll do
  • Interact with customers in a pleasant, friendly, and helpful manner.
  • Ensure stock‑loss controls are followed.
  • Maintain store and external cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Follow freshness and rotation principles.
  • Manage waste correctly.
  • Assist in the stock‑count process.
What you'll need
  • A can‑do attitude and excellent customer‑service skills.
  • The willingness to go the extra mile for our customers.
  • Responsibility and reliability.
  • Enjoy working in a fast‑paced, varied environment.
  • A good team player.
  • Previous experience in a customer‑facing role is preferred but not essential.

  • £13.30 per hour rising to £14.80 per hour after 3 years.

Pay Structure by Year
  • Year 1: Basic rate £13.30; £16.63 (unsocial hours, 11 pm‑6 am); £19.95 (overtime/sundays).
  • Year 2: Basic rate £13.40; £16.75 (unsocial); £20.10 (overtime/sundays).
  • Year 3: Basic rate £13.90; £17.38 (unsocial); £20.85 (overtime/sundays).
  • Year 4: Basic rate £14.80; £18.50 (unsocial); £22.20 (overtime/sundays).
