Overview
LHH has partnered with a private equity management firm to add a Corporate Accountant to their team. This hire will assist with the full cycle accounting functions, consolidation of multiple entities, and special projects within the organization.
Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting checklists
- Assist with the consolidation of multiple entities for the purpose of financial reporting
- Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
- Collaborate with internal and external resources in streamlining accounting operations, enhancing system efficiencies, and developing/implementing accounting system functions
- Assist with the research and implementation of accounting standards (GAAP, ASC
842, ASC
606, ASC
450, etc.) - Oversee accounting for complex investment structures including subsidiaries, tax blockers, and alternative investment vehicles (AIVs)
- Implement fund structures into accounting systems and ensure proper consolidation and equity method accounting
- Monitor and reconcile fund cash flows, short-term borrowings, and intercompany transactions
- Prepare daily journal entries and ensure accuracy of fund cash activity
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors for quarterly and annual audits
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Advanced Degree or CPA preferred
- 2-3 years of experience
- Strong work ethic and critical thinking skills required. An ideal candidate will have a knack for problem-solving and applying critical thought when analyzing financials
- Blend of public accounting and private industry experience preferred
- Strong understanding of US GAAP required. Additional experience with other technical accounting standards preferred
- Experience with private equity preferred
- Willingness to learn and quick to adapt
