Corporate Accountant

Overview

LHH has partnered with a private equity management firm to add a Corporate Accountant to their team. This hire will assist with the full cycle accounting functions, consolidation of multiple entities, and special projects within the organization.

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting checklists
• Assist with the consolidation of multiple entities for the purpose of financial reporting
• Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
• Collaborate with internal and external resources in streamlining accounting operations, enhancing system efficiencies, and developing/implementing accounting system functions
• Assist with the research and implementation of accounting standards (GAAP, ASC
  842, ASC
  606, ASC
  450, etc.)
• Oversee accounting for complex investment structures including subsidiaries, tax blockers, and alternative investment vehicles (AIVs)
• Implement fund structures into accounting systems and ensure proper consolidation and equity method accounting
• Monitor and reconcile fund cash flows, short-term borrowings, and intercompany transactions
• Prepare daily journal entries and ensure accuracy of fund cash activity
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors for quarterly and annual audits

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Advanced Degree or CPA preferred
• 2-3 years of experience
• Strong work ethic and critical thinking skills required. An ideal candidate will have a knack for problem-solving and applying critical thought when analyzing financials
• Blend of public accounting and private industry experience preferred
• Strong understanding of US GAAP required. Additional experience with other technical accounting standards preferred
• Experience with private equity preferred
• Willingness to learn and quick to adapt
