Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland. In this role, you will manage key financial operations, including invoice processing and vendor payments, while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity for growth within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

- Process vendor invoices with precision, verifying details and ensuring timely payment.

- Oversee payment methods, including checks and electronic transfers, in alignment with company protocols.

- Reconcile accounts payable transactions, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.

- Communicate effectively with vendors to address payment inquiries and resolve outstanding balances.

- Maintain organized and accurate records of accounts payable activities for audit purposes.

- Utilize accounting software to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.

- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance with accounting standards and policies.

- Monitor and manage vendor relationships to ensure seamless interactions and service delivery.

- Prepare regular reports on accounts payable activity to assist in financial decision-making. Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent, with at least 3 years of experience in accounts payable or a related field.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software.

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.

- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interactions with vendors and team members.

- Analytical mindset with the ability to solve problems and resolve discrepancies efficiently.

- Experience with automated clearing house (ACH) payments and check runs.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of organization.
