Salary + Overtime - $70K
We’re recruiting for a sought‑after staff position with an employee‑centric company in the Bethesda, MD area. If you have a degree in accounting and a year of hands‑on general ledger accounting work, this role could be the right fit.
The position will perform accounting services such as preparing journal entries, bank and general ledger account reconciliations, and assisting with preparing financial statements. You will also learn about a variety of industries and will communicate directly with your clients.
This is an ideal role for someone who likes variety and who wants to see how their work has a positive impact in the real world. The industries you’ll touch may include real estate, nonprofit, technology, hospitality and start‑ups, to name a few.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Assist with monthly, quarterly and yearly close
- Prepare adjusting journal entries and accruals and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Record revenue, expenses and other transactions using accrual accounting
- Track fixed assets and record depreciation
- Help prepare balance sheet, income statements, and statement of cash flow
- Assist with preparing and filing taxes
SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- At least one year of hands‑on accrual accounting experience; public accounting is a plus
- Experience assisting with preparing aspects of the financial statements and fundamental accounting concepts
- Highly organized and deadline‑oriented
- You take pride in your communication skills and enjoy working in a team as well as individually
