Staff auditor, Auditor Accountant

Professional services organization is seeking a Staff Auditor to support state government audit engagements.

This is an immediate hire opportunity with expectations to start ASAP.

• Support planning and execution of state government audits
• Review financial records, internal controls, and compliance documentation
• Perform audit testing and document findings
• Work directly with the audit management team and client representatives
• Accurately track and report billable hours
• Travel to assigned client sites Monday-Thursday
• Work independently with minimal onboarding

• 1-3 years of audit experience in public accounting, internal audit, or IT audit
• Hands-on experience with federal and/or state government audits required
• Familiarity with GAGAS / Yellow Book standards preferred
• Strong financial and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Comfortable traveling to assigned client sites
• Able to start immediately, pending background check

• Monday-Thursday onsite
• Friday remote
• 9:00 AM-5:00 PM
• No overtime or weekends

• Baltimore, MD / College Park, MD and other assigned Maryland client sites
• Candidates should be local to the DMV/Maryland area and able to commute to assigned locations

the individual's skill sets, experience and training;

licensure and certification requirements;

office location and other geographic considerations; and

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure.
