OverviewAn established government contractor is hiring a Senior Manager of Payroll to own payroll operations end to end for a growing, multi-entity organization.
Why this role stands out- You own the M&A payroll work. Primary point of contact for acquisition payroll, including payroll provider migration — experience that's hard to get and hard to replace.
- Real complexity, not just volume. Multi-FEIN payroll, DCAA compliance, government contract requirements, and audit support. A genuine step up if you've outgrown straightforward processing.
- A mandate to improve the function. You're expected to drive automation, strengthen controls, and lead system enhancements and integrations, not just run the cycle.
- A leadership seat with a team to manage and develop, partnering closely with HR and Finance.
- End-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, tax law, and employment standards
- DCAA compliance across government contract payroll, plus internal and external audit support
- Benefits administration including deductions, contributions, and reconciliations
- Payroll reporting, tax filings, and year-end statements
- Off-cycle payrolls including terminations, resignations, and final PTO payouts
- Acquisition payroll and payroll provider migration
- Process improvement, automation, and payroll system upgrades
- Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 5–7 years in payroll management, preferably in a leadership role
- Deltek Costpoint required; experience with modern payroll platforms
- Multi-FEIN payroll experience and working knowledge of DOL requirements
- Strong analytical skills and a track record of streamlining payroll processes
- CPP designation preferred, not required
Medical with HSA-eligible options, employer-paid dental and vision, employer-sponsored disability and life coverage, 401(k) with company match, flexible schedules and telework, paid holidays, PTO, and paid parental leave.
