Legal Support Assistant – Ballard Spahr LLP
We’re offering an entry‑level position for a Legal Support Assistant in our Baltimore office. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to jumpstart your career in the legal field while supporting our Legal Administrative Assistants (LAAs). In this role, you’ll engage in various tasks—accounting and billing, document production, and client services—while gaining a solid understanding of our firm’s operations. You’ll collaborate with a dedicated team of LAAs to manage workload and support our timekeepers.
Following training, you’ll enjoy a hybrid schedule of four days a week in a dynamic office environment.

As a Legal Support Assistant within our Legal Administrative Assistant Team, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Preparing, formatting, and editing correspondence and documents.
- Assisting with preparing closing binders.
- Running reports.
- Filing documents manually and electronically.
- Entering time and preparing and submitting expense reports.

Strong verbal and written communication abilities. - Detail‑Oriented:
Keen attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required; college is a plus and prior law firm or professional services experience is preferred. Excellent technical, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are essential for success in this position. Candidates should be comfortable working in a large professional environment and have working knowledge of the firm’s computer applications, document management system, and Microsoft Office—particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
The salary range for this position is $50,000 – $55,000, which reflects the firm’s good faith estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual pay will depend on several factors such as the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
