Program Supervisor – Parents as Teachers

SUMMARYThis position ensures the provision of quality services to families by providing strengths‑based professional supervision to direct service staff, facilitating home visits and coordinating group events for participating families as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES- General Supervisory Support: Provide supervisory support for 2 to 4 Home Visitors (HV) to include bi‑weekly supervision sessions each month. Ensure full time parent educators participate in a minimum of two hours of individual reflective supervision and a minimum of two hours of staff meetings. Part‑time parent educators participate in a minimum of one hour of reflective supervision and two hours of staff meetings.
Enable timely completion of home‑visiting documentation, monitor caseloads and visit rates. Observe each HV at least semi‑annually and provide developmental feedback. - Family Services: Develop and maintain working knowledge of the PAT Standards. Collaborate with HVs to ensure families complete required assessments, stay current with immunizations, and receive referrals. Support HVs in developing Family Goal Plans and monitor progress. Review incident reports and provide intervention services as needed. Facilitate home visits when necessary.
- Program Support: Act as a team leader, facilitate team meetings, provide daily support and crisis management. Administer staff selection interviews, orientation trainings, and revisions of training materials. Assist in updating program forms and policies, compile satisfaction surveys, manage data and reporting. Work with the PM & Director to maintain program certification and fidelity.
- Networking and Coordination
Activities:
Participate in PAT Supervisor meetings, community meetings, work groups and facilitate community presentations about program services. - Miscellaneous: Collaborate with agency staff from other programs when appropriate. Perform other duties assigned by the Program Manager or Director of Programs and Services.
Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Sciences (Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Mental Health, Nursing and Education, or equivalent) required. Master’s Degree preferred.
EXPERIENCEAt least 5 years of experience working directly with families with children in‑home or in‑group settings. Case management or service coordination experience preferred.
SKILLSA solid understanding of supervising and motivating staff, providing support in stressful environments. Experience in early childhood prevention services; home visitation experience preferred. Knowledge of infant/child development, parent‑child attachment, maternal‑infant health, dynamics of child abuse and neglect. Experience providing family services that embrace family‑centered, strength‑based, culturally sensitive provision. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to reflective supervision, data collection, and continuous quality improvement.
NOTEA valid driver’s license, car and insured vehicle is necessary to fulfill the duties. Proof of a flu vaccine or a medical or religious exemption is required.
