Position: Family Advocate (Child & Family Support Services)

Overview

The Family Advocate I provides direct services, in the center and in the home, to help families access resources (e.g. housing, economic, transportation, education, employment, etc.).

Responsibilities

Screen children and their families to assess barriers to success in reaching individual and family goals.

Link children and families to resources and services that will help them in overcoming identified barriers.

Provide family education and support services as needed.

Assist participant families to gain increased empowerment in utilizing resources and activities to address family goals, with the emphasis on self-sufficiency.

Maintain complete and current records on all participant families, including progress towards the child’s goals and parent’s progress toward family service goals.

Facilitate parent/child activities when applicable by selecting and applying the appropriate tools and curriculum.

Collaborate with Special Education teachers, Social Workers, and families to ensure continuity of services.

Attend and actively participate in all staff meetings and trainings.

Qualifications

Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred.
Must hold and maintain CPR certification.

Education

High School Diploma or GED required.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Minimum Pay Range

USD $36,955.98/Yr.

Maximum Pay Range

USD $60,296.50/Yr.
