You’re looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead and oversee commercial construction projects from start to finish in the Washington, DC area. This role is perfect for a hands‑on, proactive professional who thrives in managing complex projects, coordinating multiple stakeholders, and delivering high‑quality results on time and on budget.
What You’ll Do- Lead all phases of construction projects, from pre‑construction planning through budgeting, scheduling, procurement, execution, and closeout.
- Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and milestone tracking, ensuring alignment with company goals and client expectations.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and internal construction teams, fostering collaboration and maintaining productivity and morale.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work meets quality standards, safety protocols, and project specifications.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks or delays early, and implement proactive solutions to keep projects on track.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, building codes, industry standards, and all regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders, providing updates and addressing questions or concerns.
- Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, daily reports, and closeout materials.
- Drive continuous improvement by analyzing project performance, identifying efficiencies, and applying best practices across projects.
- Support business development by providing input on proposals, cost estimates, and schedule feasibility.
- At least 5 years of commercial construction project management experience, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, guide, and resolve conflicts among diverse teams.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Buildertrend) and Microsoft Office Suite.
