Construction Estimator – Historic Restoration

Worcester Eisenbrandt (WEI), a historic restoration construction company, is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. This full‑time position supports projects throughout the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) metropolitan area.

• Review Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for historic restoration and commercial construction projects.
• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates by analyzing construction documents, specifications, and market conditions.
• Perform quantity take‑offs for selected trades and develop detailed, trade‑specific scopes of work.
• Create, manage, and evaluate bid packages while identifying cost‑saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, owners, and other stakeholders to align project scope, schedule, permits, and costs with historic preservation standards.
• Utilize estimating software, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel to develop reliable and competitive estimates.
• Attend pre‑bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs as required.

• Ability to perform work primarily in an office environment with occasional construction site visits.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use a computer for extended periods.
• Ability to travel to job sites, attend meetings, and conduct field observations as needed.
• Ability to communicate effectively with project team members and stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; or 5–8 years of construction estimating experience in lieu of a degree.
• Proven experience estimating commercial construction projects.
• Proficiency with estimating software, including Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with historic restoration projects is highly preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
