We are seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to support construction projects by ensuring compliance with contract requirements, project specifications, quality standards, and applicable building codes. The ideal candidate will perform field inspections, document construction activities, identify quality concerns, and work closely with contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Responsibilities- Perform daily field inspections of construction activities to verify compliance with plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Monitor workmanship, materials, and installation methods for quality and code compliance.
- Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and construction documentation.
- Identify, document, and report non-conforming work and track corrective actions through resolution.
- Prepare daily inspection reports, field observations, and quality documentation.
- Verify compliance with local, state, and federal construction requirements.
- Conduct labor interviews when required for wage compliance verification.
- Monitor and report site safety concerns and immediately upscale life-safety issues.
- Participate in progress meetings and coordinate with project teams regarding quality concerns.
- Witness testing and commissioning activities for building systems and infrastructure.
- Assist with punch list development, substantial completion inspections, and project closeout activities.
- Maintain accurate records for project documentation and audit purposes.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of construction inspection, QA/QC, or construction management experience.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and building systems.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes and construction standards.
- Experience reviewing construction drawings and specifications.
- Ability to prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience on federal construction projects.
- Experience on higher education, healthcare, municipal, or public sector projects.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Certified Construction Quality Manager (CQM-C).
- ICC Inspector Certifications.
- Experience with renovation and occupied facility projects.
