Video Producer – Inside Higher Ed
We are seeking a Video Producer. The Video Producer is an experienced visual storyteller who applies editorial expertise and a creative eye to the production of video content that successfully promotes Johns Hopkins University. This Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) role includes responsibilities related to a project manager, producer, and video editor who can capture an audience by bringing to life nuanced stories about science, technology, and engineering in unique, quirky, and surprising ways.
The Video Producer will use the Center's production process to create video content as part of the video team, including transcription ordering, editing, quality control, production coordination, instructional design, and creation of academic content.
- Creates public health video content aimed at domestic and international learners, including short‑form documentary‑style videos produced for and regularly published online in Course Plus, Courseara or other CMS/LMS platforms.
- Manages budget and deliverable deadlines associated with individual projects.
- Collaborates with the broader production team to manage multiple video production projects from start to finish on tight deadlines.
- Provides client consultation, needs assessment, success metrics, concept development, storyboarding, script‑writing, field production, interviewing, and editing.
- Performs other related duties as requested.

- Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Five years' experience creating editorial video content in television news, corporate branding, non‑profit or similar fast‑paced environments.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high‑school diploma, to the extent permitted by the JHU Equivalency Formula.
- Reporting or segment production background.
- Live event or production switching, especially the New Tek Tricaster.
- Experience in VR or XR إ media production.
- Experience with the Sony FX9 production camera.
- Experience with field lighting, lighting design, motion graphics, and animation creation.
- Basic understanding of asset management and production workflows.
- Experience with the Microsoft Office 365 suite.
- Demo reel available.
- Experience utilizing video production equipment (cameras, lights, audio equipment) and post‑ion software such as Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, Tricaster, etc.
- Experience designing and developing AR/VR projects for clients.
- Experience with broadcast production equipment (network switchers Overrides protocols such as AVOIP, Dante, Crestron, TCP/IP, NDI).
