• Position Salary Range
  : $60.00‑$65.00 per hour
• Summary
  :
  The supervising dentists will be evaluating clinical procedures with a few exceptions. The periodontal scaling (including ultrasonic scaling) and root planing procedures are to be evaluated by the dental hygiene program faculty. The supervising dentist must be an excellent communicator and licensed to practice dentistry in Maryland.

• Assessment of oral abnormalities
• Radiographic interpretations
• Dental hygiene faculty, student and patient consultations
• Referrals as needed
• As indicated by a patient's medical or dental history, prescription of medications such as antibiotics for premedication and antimicrobials for dental hygiene therapy
• Administration and instruction of local anesthesia
• Administration and instruction of nitrous oxide
• Role model for students and public relations with clinic patient volunteers
• Emergency director during emergency situations in the clinical setting
• Member of Dental Hygiene Program Advisory Board
• Lecturer for dental hygiene courses

• Graduation from an accredited dental school with a degree in dentistry
• Current licensure to practice dentistry in the state of Maryland
• Current CPR certification
• Continuing education in accordance with the requirements of the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners
• Current member of the ADA, MDA, and local component dental societies
• Continuing Education credits in accordance with the requirements of the Maryland Dental Association
• Knowledge of OSHA & HIPAA guidelines
