Monkey in the Metal is looking for a skilled, hands‑on Foreman with strong commercial construction experience and a sharp eye for interior details. Based in Baltimore, Maryland, Monkey in the Metal has been crafting custom solid wood and metal fabrication solutions since 2012. We bring one‑of‑a‑kind furniture, architectural elements, signage, and art to life across multifamily, commercial, institutional, and public spaces. Whether it’s a custom restaurant buildout or a sleek office renovation, we tackle projects where interior design and craftsmanship intersect.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead on‑site teams to execute high‑end commercial interior projects, including retail, restaurant, office, and mixed‑use spaces.
  • Coordinate with designers, GCs, and internal teams to translate design intent into buildable, finished results.
  • Manage daily site operations, subcontractors, materials, and timelines.
  • Interpret drawings, specs, and custom fabrication details with precision.
  • Ensure safety protocols, cleanliness, and site standards are met.
  • Problem‑solve field conditions and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • Oversee installation of custom fabricated components – wood, metal, and hybrid features.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial interior construction methods, finishes, and buildout sequencing.
  • Experience working with custom fabrication or architectural millwork is a major plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and technical shop drawings.
  • A calm, focused leader who can coordinate crews, juggle moving parts, and maintain quality.
  • Comfortable with tools, field equipment, and hands‑on work when needed.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solutions‑driven mindset.
