Life Bridge Health (LBH) is a regional health care organization based in Baltimore City, Baltimore County and Carroll County, MD. LBH is seeking a System Chief of Orthopedic Surgery to provide strategic direction and leadership of the Department of Orthopedics at Sinai Hospital, Northwest Hospital, and Carroll Hospital Center along with multiple surgery endeavors across the Life Bridge Health Medical Group.
As the largest, most comprehensive provider of health-related services to the people of the Greater Baltimore region, the system is currently licensed for 1,947 beds and earns approximately $2 billion in annual revenues. There are an estimated 2,900 physicians on the medical staff and over 13,000 employees. The state-of-the-art Trauma Center at Sinai Hospital is one of just four Level II trauma centers in Maryland and a national leader in the care of trauma patients.
The Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics at Sinai Hospital was founded over two decades ago and centered around the concept of excellence in complex reconstruction of all types of orthopedic disease. In the years since inception, the Rubin Institute has continued to advance care for complex orthopedic disease and expanded to include a spectrum of orthopedic subspecialties including trauma, arthroplasty, sports medicine, hand & upper extremity, limb lengthening, limb deformity and correction, and pediatric orthopedic specialties.
Now spanning three hospitals, the group sees patients from one of the largest catchment areas in Maryland through the Life Bridge Health network, in addition to treating patients from across the nation and the globe. With a focus on compassionate care and academic presence, the Rubin Institute looks to build upon their reputation locally, nationally and internationally. The group hosts a residency program based at Sinai Hospital, as well as fellowships in arthroplasty, adult limb reconstruction, and pediatric limb reconstruction.
In addition, the RIAO has a robust clinical research team that is continuously driving innovations in orthopedic care.
Position Summary:
Candidate Qualifications
- Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery
- 7-10 years of administrative and clinical leadership experience
- Previous chair experience preferred, but emerging leader with appropriate experience will be considered
- Experience in an academic medical center or in a complex teaching environment
- Experience with cultivating an environment of diversity, quality, teamwork, and continued growth and improvement
- Academic and research distinction, with national/international presence.
