The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, ranked top 5 in NIH Research funding, is recruiting for a community‑based Radiation Oncologist at the Assistant / Associate Professor non‑tenure track level. The role provides services for our community and downtown based locations and focuses on patient volume, clinical trials, and collaborative relationships with local clinical providers.

The Department’s clinical program has twenty physicians and operates several Maryland locations, including the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC), Maryland Proton Treatment Center (MPTC), Central Maryland Radiation Oncology Center (CMROC), and others. The program has fourteen linear accelerators, a proton center, multi‑slice CT simulators, and advanced treatment modalities. Researchers are engaged in Precision Radiation Oncology (PRO) and translational radiation science, aiming to bridge basic science and clinical application.

Candidates must be board certified by the American Board of Radiology in Radiation Oncology, hold an unrestricted Maryland license, and possess a medical degree from an accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent). Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to patient care, teaching, and teamwork, and be willing to participate in resident education, mock exams, teaching conferences, and annual review courses.

Qualifications

Candidates must be board certified/eligible by the American Board of Radiology in Radiation Oncology and eligible for an unrestricted license in the State of Maryland. This position requires a medical degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent), a strong commitment to patient care and teaching, and the ability to work well in a team setting.
