The Department of Pediatrics at Med Star Harbor Hospitalis seeking aMedical Director of Newborn Services forits Division of Neonatology. The candidate, who must be board certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, should be committed to maintaining and continue to developa program of excellence in clinical carefor normal and moderately ill newborns.
Strong interpersonal skillsare a must; previousleadershipexperience ispreferredbut not required.
Med Star Harbor Hospital provides obstetric care and oversees over 1,000 deliveries peryear andcounts with a level II Neonatal Care Unit to take care of moderately ill term and preterm newborns.
As medical director, the individual will be responsible for overseeing clinical operations and coverage schedule, providing education of staff including pediatric hospitalists, advanced practitioners, and nurses, and developing, supporting, and participating in practice and quality improvement projects.
