Position: Life Design Consultant for Career Mobility & Talent Intelligence (Human Resources)

Overview

Reporting to the Director of the Center for Staff Life Design, we are seeking a Life Design Consultant for Career Mobility & Talent Intelligence who is a dynamic individual with expertise in course design, digital learning technologies, and curriculum planning and development. The Life Design Consultant will deliver on the mission of the Center for Staff Life Design by developing and facilitating training and programming for JHU staff.

The Life Design Consultant is assigned a portfolio of responsibility (for example: a campus, division, or job families) and is expected to deliver life design content and innovate scalable programming to their portfolio. The Life Design Consultant will expertly support staff engagement through their programming, training, delivery, and practices in ways that are appropriate to the mission and values of Johns Hopkins University.

It is expected that the Life Design Consultant will actively travel between Johns Hopkins campuses and among departments to assure quality and engaging delivery of Staff Life Design programming both in person and virtually.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver innovative Staff Life Design programming across various modalities including social media, digital courses, and live programming.
  • Collaborate with university stakeholders and staff to assess needs and create new professional development services to support career development priorities for CSLD at JHU.
  • Implement effective assessment and evaluation tools for programming aligned to current CSLD and JHU standards and best practices.
  • Drive digital engagement strategies and represent JHU in thought leadership capacities.
  • Design and develop digital courses using Articulate, Adobe AI, Cornerstone, and other learning technologies.
  • Learn and integrate the Eightfold platform and JHU's career architecture into the Center for Staff Life Design's curriculum.
  • Create courses that bridge the Eightfold platform with the Center for Staff Life Design's offerings.
  • Utilize SharePoint and web design tools such as Canva, HTML, and CSS to create engaging and accessible digital content.
  • Maintain and update the Center for Staff Life Design's online resources and platforms related to my Career, Career Architecture, and other programs supporting internal mobility and professional development for staff at JHU.
  • Work across JHU HR and various divisions to align and customize my Career and Career Architecture Life Design Trainings and Workshops for different job families across the university.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure career development programs meet the diverse needs of JHU staff.
  • Plan and execute large-scale and small-scale events, including both digital and in-person engagements in collaboration with CSLD, Divisional, and HR stakeholders.
  • Coordinate logistics, marketing, and participant engagement for career development events.
  • Develop and implement innovative career development programs and services that support the professional growth of JHU staff.
  • Conduct needs assessments and gather feedback to continuously improve program offerings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in any subject area and 1 year of work experience or equivalent of a master’s degree by way of JHU work and education equivalency formula (approximately five years of work experience in HR or Education).
  • One year of experience in teaching or facilitating active-learning workshops or classes. Certification or 1 year of experience in human-centered design, life design, or user experience (UX) design and research methodologies. Proven experience in designing digital courses using PowerPoint, Articulate, Cornerstone, Linked In Learning, and other learning technologies. Very strong proficiency in PowerPoint, SharePoint, Canva, HTML, Smartsheet (or similar project management tools), Visual Design, and CSS.

    Commitment to teach in person and virtually as required. Commitment to and evidence of strong teaming and collaborative work practices.
