CCBC is the college of choice for over 50,000 students and 200 businesses each year. The Mathematics Department is seeking adjunct faculty to teach development mathematics, upper‑level mathematics, and statistics courses. Adjunct instructors will teach in‑person, days or nights or Saturdays as needed, beginning in the next semester. Candidates should be proficient with teaching technologies such as online course management systems, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, e‑textbooks, online mathematics homework platforms, and graphing and calculation tools.
Responsibilities- Teach assigned courses in‑person or via the chosen modality.
- Cooperate with college support staff and provide regular office hours (one hour per week per course).
- Respond promptly to emails/messages and conduct assessments of student progress.
- Submit progress grades and final course grades by posted deadlines.
- Alert appropriate CCBC personnel of student or classroom issues.
- Uphold and pass along CCBC’s values of diversity, inclusion, integrity, scholarship, and excellence.
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field with significant graduate‑level coursework.
- Proficiency with teaching technologies and online learning environments.
Adjunct Level 1 – $1,085 per credit hour. Adjunct faculty may teach up to 22 credit hours each year and usually teach no more than 11 credits each semester.
Campus Locations – Catonsville, Essex, Dundalk & Owings Mills.
