The American Sign Language (ASL) and Interpreter Preparation Program at CCBC has served students for over 40 years. The program uses a cutting‑edge curriculum and is rapidly growing both locally and online. We seek a faculty member to teach ASL and Deaf culture courses; candidates with a CDI credential may also teach interpreter prep courses. Positions are located at the Essex and Catonsville campuses and include teaching during days, evenings and online.

• Prepare and teach basic to advanced levels of American Sign Language.
• Maintain a strong presence by actively participating in department initiatives, college‑wide committees and other college work groups.
• Remain current in the discipline through professional development opportunities.
• Native fluency in American Sign Language.
• Excellent written English skills.
• Knowledge of Deaf community and culture.
• Strong interest in teaching a diverse student population.

• Master’s degree in a deaf‑related discipline such as American Sign Language Teaching, Deaf Studies, or Linguistics of ASL. ASLTA certification strongly preferred.
• Two (2) years teaching experience preferred.
• Proficient computer skills and Microsoft application knowledge.
• Prior college teaching experience preferred.
