Pay Range

$50,000 - $85,000 per year.

French Teacher for the  school year at private and independent schools in Washington DC and nationwide.

• Develop engaging lesson plans and curricula tailored to the needs and skill levels of individual students.
• Teach French language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through a variety of instructional methods.
• Create opportunities for students to practice conversational French and improve pronunciation and comprehension.
• Teach students about French culture, including festivals, traditional food, dress, and social conventions.
• Organize fun events where students can showcase their French language skills.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress and behavior.
• Participate in regular professional development activities to stay current with best practices and innovation in language education.

• Bachelor’s degree in French, Linguistics, Education, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
• Proven written and verbal proficiency in French.
• 2-3 years of previous teaching experience.
• No teaching license or credential is required.
• Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
• Organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community.
• Willingness to assist with extracurricular and school community activities.

• Knowledge of ACTFL standards preferred.
