Coach, D.C. United Summer Camps (D.C. & Maryland)
Become a D.C. United Camps Coach and lead small groups of campers (ages 5‑13) through fun, active, age‑appropriate soccer experiences that build confidence, teamwork, and a love for the game. You will create a supportive, inclusive environment that reflects the championship‑driven spirit of MLS and proudly represents the D.C. United brand.
- Schedule: Monday‑Friday, 7:45 am – 3:30 pm (with pre‑camp training and all weeks of programming)
- Compensation: $17.95 per hour, with additional paid lessons ($43.75 per lesson) for extended employment opportunities.
- Camp dates and locations available at (locations may change weekly; reliable transportation required).
- Lead a group of 10‑12 campers through daily soccer drills, games, activities, and active play; bring energy, creativity, and intention to every session.
- Deliver the provided curriculum and activity plans while finding opportunities to enhance the experience with traditions, themed moments, and team‑inspired touchpoints.
- Create a welcoming, inclusive environment where campers feel safe, encouraged, and excited to participate.
- Motivate campers with positive energy, clear communication, and hands‑on leadership; set a tone that is fun, focused, and authentically D.C. United.
- Build strong relationships with campers, supporting their confidence, fostering belonging, and cultivating a sense of community.
- Uphold all camp safety, supervision, and behavioral expectations throughout the day.
- Collaborate with fellow coaches and site leadership to support daily camp flow and create premium camp moments.
- Assist with transitions, group movement, arrival and dismissal, and daily camp operations, proactively ensuring smooth and safe camp operation.
- Represent D.C. United and Headfirst with professionalism, enthusiasm, and pride.
- Enjoy working with children and bring positive energy, patience, and care to group settings.
- Passionate about soccer with a desire to share it with campers in a way that builds confidence and joy.
- Comfortable leading and supervising a small group of campers throughout the day.
- Reliable, coachable, and open to training, feedback, and collaboration.
- Safety‑minded, adaptable, and calm in active, fast‑paced environments.
- Dedicated to the camp’s mission, program quality, and supportive team environment for the full season.
- Physically able to remain upright and standing for multiple hours, walk/run quickly around large outdoor fields, and lift/carry up to 50 lbs of equipment.
- Committed to the camp’s Cell‑Phone Free policy during shift.
- Enjoy active, outdoors work all summer in the DMV area.
- Eligible to earn middle and end‑of‑season awards.
