Lead/Assistant Toddler Teacher

Join The Goddard School® in Baltimore, MD. The Goddard School located at 1000 S. Highland Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21224 is seeking a passionate Lead Teacher to create a nurturing environment for young children using our proprietary Wonder of Learning® program.

About the Role

Lead daily activities, inspire young minds, and collaborate with a supportive team. You will implement an engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum and maintain a safe, inclusive classroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement age-appropriate lesson plans using the Wonder of Learning® curriculum.
  • Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Maintain open, effective communication with families and guardians.
  • Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities to uphold health and safety standards.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
  • Observe, assess, and document children’s learning and development.
  • Support Assistant and Resource Teachers, fostering collaboration.
  • Model positive guidance strategies to support social-emotional growth.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education preferred.
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred.
  • 45‑hour Growth and Development Certification preferred.
  • 45‑hour Infant and Toddler Methods and Materials Certification preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting preferred.
  • Successfully completed state-required pre‑service training.
  • Develop relationships and communicate effectively with children, families, and faculty.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as required when handling children.
