Adjunct Biology Faculty (Level 1)
Adjunct Biology faculty are needed to teach day and evening Microbiology courses at the Community College of Baltimore County. Faculty facilitate learning by preparing and delivering instruction, collaborating with College support staff by timely submission of materials for grading, and coordinating activities with the Department Chairperson or discipline coordinator.
Responsibilities- Teach day and evening Microbiology courses across Campus locations:
Catonsville, MD;
Dundalk, MD; and Essex, MD. - Offer one office hour each week per class to support student learning.
- Participate in departmental or college activities as required.
- Engage in professional development opportunities.
Adjunct Level 1 – $1,085 per credit hour.
Adjunct faculty may teach up to 22 credit hours each academic year and usually teach no more than 11 credits each semester.
Minimum Requirements- A Master of Science in Microbiology or a related field with appropriate coursework is required for lecture instructors.
- A Bachelor of Science with appropriate education and experience is required for laboratory instructors.
- Instructional experience is preferred.
- Retirement: 403(b) and 457(b) supplemental plans available to all part‑time employees.

Free parking is available on all campuses. A permit from the Department of Public Safety is required. - Sick and Safe Leave:
Paid sick and safe leave is earned by all part‑time employees, including credit and non‑credit adjunct faculty.
