Job Description: Church of the Harbor is seeking a bi-vocational Associate Pastor to lead and oversee family ministries to help our children, teens, and parents grow together in their walk with Christ. This is a great position for someone who loves teaching, discipleship, and partnering with families in spiritual growth. Annual salary is $24,000 and includes the option to live in a spacious parsonage.
Church of the Harbor is located in Essex, Maryland, a suburban community just a short drive outside of Baltimore City. We are close to I-95 with quick access to the Baltimore Metro area. Started as a church plant, we are passionate about our mission to declare truth and display love that people would be devoted followers of Jesus.
OverviewThe main responsibilities of the Associate Pastor will be to lead student ministry and provide pastoral oversight for CoH Family Ministries. This person will be expected to be a godly and pastorally qualified leader in the church, and to support the overall mission and direction of CoH.
Job Responsibilities- Oversee and teach weekly student ministry group
- Provide general pastoral oversight and direction to kids ministry and other family ministries
- Contribute to weekend experiences by leading elements of CoH Sunday AM Gatherings on a weekly basis
- Preach before the larger congregation during occasional Sunday AM gatherings
- Maintain local school and community partnerships
- Assist the Senior Pastor in the performance of his regular duties, and perform other duties as required by the office.
- Possesses a balance of drivenness and humility
- Has strong relationships with the members of CoH
- Is comfortable sharing the gospel and leading others to do the same
- Is committed to bi-vocational work
- Faithfully attends and serves in weekly Gatherings and Community Groups
- Formal education/training (e.g. Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Ministry)
- Experience in family ministry and leading a student ministry preferred
- High level of integrity, work ethic, and dependability
