Spanish Teacher

Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment firm, is seeking Spanish Teachers for the  school year at private and independent schools in Washington DC and nationwide.

Base pay range: $50,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr. Compensation and benefit packages are competitive but will differ by school and typically depend on geographic location, your experience, and your level of degree.

• Develop engaging lesson plans and curricula tailored to individual students' needs and skill levels.
• Teach Spanish language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through various instructional methods.
• Create opportunities for students to practice conversational Spanish and improve pronunciation and comprehension.
• Teach students about Spanish culture, including festivals, traditional food, dress, and social conventions.
• Organize fun events for students to showcase Spanish language skills.
• Communicate with parents about student progress and behavior.
• Participate in regular professional development activities to stay current with best practices and innovation in language education.

• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Linguistics, Education, or a related field required;
  Master’s degree preferred.
• Proven written and verbal proficiency in Spanish.
• 2-3 years of previous teaching experience.
• No teaching license or credential is required.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community.
• Willingness to assist with extracurricular and school community activities.

• Knowledge of ACTFL standards.
