Job Description
Professor Position:
Assistant Professor (Doctorally-Prepared) in the Department of Organizational Systems and Adult Health. The role focuses on teaching clinically related courses for the Acute Health Care needs of adults and achieving positive program outcomes in the Entry into Practice nursing programs (Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master’s Entry into Practice).
UMSON enrolls over 2,000 students in its baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral programs. It is part of the University of Maryland Graduate Professional Campus, which includes medicine, dentistry, law, pharmacy, and social work. The campus offers interdisciplinary collaboration in bio‑sciences, law, and social work, supporting research, scholarship, and community action in the Baltimore‑Washington Triangle.
Primary Responsibilities- Provide classroom, lab, and clinical instruction focused on adult health content, delivery methods, student evaluation, and recommending curricular adjustments for entry‑into‑practice nursing students.
- Participate in planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical simulations related to courses taught.
- Use evidence‑based best practices to educate entry‑into‑practice nursing students in pathophysiological concepts and management of acutely ill adults.
- Advise and mentor entry‑into‑practice nursing students.
- Contribute to interprofessional team collaboration and serve on departmental and school committees.
Hiring Range: $122,000

Qualifications- Doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, or DNP).
- Current Registered Nurse license to practice in Maryland or a compact state.
- Recent experience in acute healthcare settings caring for adult populations.
- Prior teaching experience is preferred.
