Primary Teacher

The New Century School is an independent, language-immersion (Spanish/Chinese) preschool-8th grade in the heart of historic Fells Point. We are known for joyful, creative, and intellectually rich classrooms where children thrive in a warm, nurturing, and culturally vibrant community.

Due to an unexpected opening, we are immediately seeking an outstanding, experienced Lead Primary Teacher (ages 3-5) to join our team for the remainder of the  school year, with strong potential for a long-term role.

• Proven skill in designing and delivering engaging, hands-on lessons that spark curiosity and foster independence
• A warm, collaborative professional who excels at building strong partnerships with children, families, and colleagues
• Someone energized by a multilingual, multicultural environment and committed to social-emotional as well as academic growth

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and lead dynamic, child-centered daily lessons and projects
• Create and maintain a safe, organized, and aesthetically beautiful classroom that inspires exploration and wonder
• Track and document each child's progress; conduct parent conferences and write thoughtful progress reports
• Mentor and guide assistant teachers, fostering a cohesive and supportive team
• Communicate proactively and warmly with families through newsletters, conferences, and daily updates
• Partner with parents to help them understand and support their child's developmental journey
