Position Title:
Dual Enrollment Middle College Adjunct Faculty Pool.
FLSA: Non‑Exempt.
FT/PT: Part Time.
Hours Per Week: 3 hours per week in a class per 3‑credit course plus grading and preparation.
Work Schedule: Morning (12:00pm‑2:00pm);
Class time 12:30‑1:50 (M‑Th).
Position Salary Range: See adjunct salary schedule.
About this role:
This posting supports dual enrollment courses for students in the Middle College pathway, a partnership with Howard County Public Schools. Faculty must create a supportive and engaging learning experience, use creative pedagogy, and be responsive to traditionally underserved students, delivering rigorous course material to high school learners.
- Teach 1–3 courses each semester, depending on availability.
- Prepare course materials and update the Canvas LMS course site.
- Attend required faculty/staff meetings and complete required trainings.
- Meet with students as needed and grade/assess student work.
- Deliver quality instruction and comply with all employment requirements from the division, the Office of Dual Enrollment, and the college.
Disciplines Needed: ENG 121 ALP, PSYCH 101, CMSY 110, HIST 132, COMM 101, COMM 105.
Qualifications- Minimum
Education Required:
Master’s degree. - Experience
Required:
2 years. - Preferred Experience: Minimum 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline (Master's Degree in discipline may be required – defer to department); 3‑years high school teaching experience; availability for face‑to‑face or hybrid classroom instruction, familiarity with the HCPSS academic calendar and modality decisions.
- Master’s degree in discipline, a master’s degree or higher is required, prior college‑level teaching experience.
- Experience with multi‑language learners.
- Ability to use Canvas LMS for course information, assignments, and grades.
