Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks, “BCRP,” seeks a dependable and qualified individual to fill part-time non-civil service STEM/STEAM Program Designer position. BCRP Offers out-of-school time STEM/STEAM opportunities at Rec2

Tech-focused recreation centers across Baltimore City. BCRP’s Rec2

Tech initiative aims to provide students with opportunities to engage with STEM/STEAM content through hands‑on experiences while exploring careers in the STEM/STEAM fields.

Up to 25 hours per week including evenings

Content Development – Identify new content aligned to Rec2

Tech pathways and student interest. Design specialized courses related to new content identified. Develop syllabus, curriculum, and lesson plans for specialized courses. Share developed content by providing training for staff.

Program Delivery and Instruction – Teach a minimum of one 10–20-hour course, per program session (Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer). Prepare daily lessons by reviewing and practicing activities prior to program delivery. Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate a variety of learning styles and capabilities. Guide, encourage, support, and supervise a group of 10-15 students during class time. Implement and maintain appropriate behavioral management for program participants.

Ensure safety and productivity of participants.

Administrative Support – Submit completed syllabus, curriculum, and lessons to share drive for BCRP agency access. Complete and submit daily attendance tracking during course offering.
