AboutThe Role
TAI is actively seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to work support on‑going operations and maintenance activities at a Chemical Manufacturing client site in Baltimore, MD. The Maintenance Engineer will report to TAI’s On‑Site Division Manager and also support the client’s Lead Reliability Engineer. The Maintenance Engineer will provide support for solving maintenance and reliability issues and coordinate external support for maintenance troubleshooting.

It’s a day‑to‑day in this role- Develops and manages equipment maintenance plans including PM, PdM, and CBM routines, and equipment lists in SAP, DMS, etc.
- Tracks, manages, and analyzes area asset reliability data.
- Identifies and scopes potential reliability improvement projects and conducts Bad Actor analysis.
- Performs FMEAs and RCAAs to investigate long‑term maintenance equipment problems and implement solutions.
- Participates in Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs) including GMP and PSSR and Management of Change (MOCs).
- Manages small projects including contract bidding and supervision to commissioning and startup activities.
- Identifies critical spares and recommends spare parts inventory levels.
- Improves maintenance management processes & SOPs and supports training of area personnel.
- Provides input to weekly maintenance schedules.
- Writes and edits SOP/work instructions.
- Supports Purchasing/Goods Receipts/New Vendors/Requisition s.
- Redlines Engineering Drawings and documents and manages area equipment files.
- Assists with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs.
- Reviews major purchases and capital projects to optimize life‑cycle costs.
- Assists in tracking maintenance metrics for area of responsibility.
- Provides independent quality control of in‑house and outside contract services.
- Must be willing to wear PPE (hard hat, protective eyewear, steel‑toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full‑face respirator).
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
- Ability to work in a high‑hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
- BS in Engineering discipline (ME highly preferred).
- 5‑7+ years Maintenance/Engineering experience in process manufacturing environment, such as Chemical, Paper, Metals, Refinery.
- Proactive problem‑solving approach focused on action.
- Ability to organize and prioritize.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and other maintenance scheduling tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – work with multiple departments to solve problems.
- Understanding of industry design, repair standards and maintenance practices.
- Experience using SAP Preventative Maintenance module.
- Knowledge of engineering codes and standards such as ASME, API, ANSI, etc.
- Knowledge of equipment PdM practices such as Vibration Analysis, Ultrasound, Oil Analysis and Infrared Thermography.
- Knowledge of calciners and kilns.
- Pay: $100,000 - $135,000 annually (based upon experience).
- Annual Profit Sharing Bonus (variable).
