WSP is searching for a Senior Technical Transportation Engineer with experience in highway design to join our Civil Engineering group in the Mid‑Atlantic District. The candidate may be located in Washington, DC;
Philadelphia, PA;
Herndon, VA;
Baltimore, MD;
Virginia Beach, VA; or Richmond, VA. Ideal candidates have design experience in highways, roadway geometric design, roadway plan production, and drainage design for traditional and alternative delivery projects.

• Lead technical design programs and client engagement sessions.
• Mentor staff and support their growth and professional development.
• Provide subject matter technical support for multi‑site heavy civil programs.
• Oversee project budgets, monitor external events, and manage subcontractors.
• Develop construction plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a closely related discipline.
• 10+ years of relevant post‑education experience in engineering and civil design.
• P.E. license required (multi‑state preferred).
• Highly proficient in civil engineering principles, practices, and design/build processes.
• Experience leading design and program management for rehabilitation, reconstruction, and new design projects.
• Strong knowledge of relevant civil construction laws, codes, and compliance practices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Works independently to provide guidance and leadership to mid‑level to senior level team members.
• Proficiency with technical writing and design software such as Micro Station, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, InRoads, Geopak, Geo Slope, and HEC‑RAS.
• Preferred:
  Master’s Degree in Engineering.
