Overview
Commissioning Manager - Data Center oversees the entire commissioning process to ensure data center systems and components function correctly before the facility goes live. This role focuses on a single, large construction project and will primarily stay on the job site, with occasional travel to the office for trainings and meetings.

Responsibilities- Manage all stages of the commissioning process, from initial planning and design reviews to final testing and handover.
- Create commissioning plans, schedules, test procedures (such as IET and IPVT/IST), and verification checklists.
- Ensure the facility and its systems comply with design specifications, health and safety standards, and performance requirements.
- Act as the main point of contact and manage communication between various teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Prepare and manage all necessary documentation, including inspection reports, test results, and final certification documents.
- Perform and oversee various tests, such as functional testing and site acceptance testing, to verify system performance.
- Train direct reports on processes, procedures, and completion of daily tasks.
- Manage workload and performance of direct reports, ensuring alignment with overall company standards.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team members.
- Aid in communicating company and department strategy to direct reports.

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- 10–12 years of data center commissioning experience.
- Previous hyperscale field construction on data centers is required.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- In‑depth knowledge of data center systems, including power distribution, cooling, HVAC, and IT equipment.
- Ability to manage schedules, budgets, change orders, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
The pay ranges from $130,000‑$205,000 plus benefits and a retirement program. Gilbane offers an excellent total compensation package, including competitive health and welfare benefits, a generous profit‑sharing/401(k) plan, and extensive educational opportunities via Gilbane University.
