Role:
Military / Federal Planner (Installation & Campus Planning)
We are seeking an experienced Urban Planner with military and/or federal government experience to join our growing Planning department, supporting a diverse portfolio of DoD, federal agency, and installation planning contracts. This role is ideal for an urban planner or designer with strong technical, graphic, and analytical skills who can independently lead all phases of installation, campus, and facility master planning efforts.

Key Responsibilities- Lead and support installation, campus, and facility master planning efforts for military bases and federal sites
- Develop and analyze space requirements, land use plans, and facility programs aligned with mission needs
- Apply DoD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), military planning standards, and federal policies throughout planning efforts
- Prepare high‑quality graphics, GIS mapping, and visualization products
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of planning document production
- Serve as point of contact for federal clients, addressing concerns and ensuring deliverables are met
- Manage projects from concept development through final delivery, maintaining schedules and budgets
- Mentor junior planners and promote interdisciplinary collaboration across planning, engineering, and cost teams
- Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, or related field
- Minimum 8 years of professional planning experience, preferably supporting military or federal customers
- Proficiency with GIS (ArcGIS/Arc Map), AutoCAD, Sketch Up, and/or related tools
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Working knowledge of military planning criteria, installation planning, or federal land‑use planning frameworks
- Strong technical writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
- AICP or RLA certification
- Direct experience supporting DoD, federal civilian agencies, or installation master planning efforts
