Control Engineers are responsible for designing, developing, installing, and maintaining equipment used to monitor and control systems, machinery, and processes. They work in various applications such as industrial controls, cybersecurity, building automation, water/wastewater, power controls and protection, energy management, and transportation systems. Control engineers are technical experts in areas like advanced process control, instrumentation, distributed control systems, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
They utilize these skills to design and implement solutions to meet our customers' complex needs.
- Develop design documents for small projects and support larger programs.
- Assist senior engineers in preparing designs, including:
- Requirements analysis
- Subsystem designs (CAD, panels, layouts, wiring, SCADA screens, hardware, communications)
- Comment resolution
- Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs, RTUs, and HMI systems.
- Assist in creating and updating testing and commissioning procedures.
- Prepare test reports.
- Develop test procedures.
- Commission deployed systems.
- Develop test fixtures and simulation devices.
- Perform factory and field testing.
- Troubleshoot service calls for existing and legacy systems.
- Perform hardware/software upgrades and replacements.
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or a related field. 0+ years of experience.
- Ability to work with computer screens for extended periods.
- Sitting for long periods and reaching by extending hands or arms.
- Finger dexterity for manipulating objects like keyboards.
- Good listening and understanding skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend written information.
- Apply general rules to specific problems effectively.
- Recognize and understand speech from others.
- Attend in-person meetings with customers outside the office.
- Possess a valid driver's license and vehicle for transportation to customer sites. Ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle may be required. Candidates must have an acceptable driving record.
