Position: Bilingual Spanish Safety Supervisor x 2

Overview

A bilingual Spanish and English Safety Supervisor open position for a Maryland-based heavy civil and utility contractor with a strong regional reputation across the DMV. This position is open for a safety professional starting out in their career or someone with multiple years of experience. The company delivers complex, high‑risk work for prestigious clients in the utilities, gas, transmission, and overhead electrical sectors.

The role serves as a trusted, proactive partner to field leadership across projects between Wilmington, DE and Baltimore, MD. This is a long‑term career role within an established, supportive safety team – ideal for a safety professional who enjoys mentoring, influencing safe decision‑making, and shaping safety culture across large‑scale civil and utility operations.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Base Salary: $80,000 – $115,000

Duties
  • Act as a trusted advisor to project managers, superintendents, and field leadership on all safety matters.
  • Provide hands‑on field presence across heavy civil, utility, gas, and electrical transmission/overhead line projects.
  • Lead coaching, safety stand‑downs, learning reviews, and after‑action reviews.
  • Guide crews through high‑risk activities, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory safety requirements.
  • Support and influence the development of SOPs, safety programs, and training initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement in incident prevention, hazard recognition, and risk mitigation.
  • Mentor and develop junior safety staff, helping to build the next generation of safety leaders.
  • Conduct site audits, inspections, and incident investigations as needed to support safe operations.
Qualifications
  • 1‑10 years of safety experience in heavy civil, utilities, gas, or transmission/overhead electrical work.
  • Strong field leadership presence and the confidence to influence high‑risk activities.
  • Experience coaching crews and facilitating learning reviews or stand‑downs.
  • Solid working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and relevant industry safety standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and a mentoring mindset.
