Our Sales and Use Tax Lookback Review COE is a national team that leads large multi‑state sales and use tax recovery projects for EY’s largest clients. Here you’ll develop as a multi‑state practitioner, advancing skills and responsibilities with mentors and training programs.

There is no average day. You’ll work on a diverse array of projects, providing up‑to‑the‑minute tax advice to clients in a highly collaborative culture.

• Research client business operations and build lasting relationships
• Identify applicable sales and use tax exemptions and exclusions
• Identify potential over payment opportunities or risks and communicate findings
• Monitor current tax law changes to maintain credibility as a trusted advisor
• Develop clear, intelligent plans and approaches for sales and use tax recoveries
• Prepare and defend sales and use tax refund claims
• Participate on a motivated team of professionals
• Supervise a motivated team, ensuring they have the skills, knowledge and opportunities to reach full potential

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline
• Professional knowledge in a broad range of sales and use tax processes, concepts and tools
• Proven record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization
• Technical writing and research experience in a tax context
• Ability to prioritize when working on multiple complex projects
• Strong influencing skills and confidence to question existing processes
• Willingness to travel as needed, and ability to work in a balanced hybrid environment

• Achieved or partially achieved CPA qualification, certification as a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation, CMI designation, or the ability to sit for a state bar

• Comprehensive compensation and benefits package, including medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and paid time off options. Base salary ranges $81,700-$135,000 (US), with higher ranges in metro areas.
• Hybrid model: work in person 40‑60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project, or year.
