Location of PositionCheltenham Youth Detention Center, 11003 Frank Tippett Road, Cheltenham, MD 20623 (Prince George's County)
Main Purpose of JobThe Maryland Department of Juvenile Services (DJS) is dedicated to transforming young lives, creating safer communities, and fostering equitable systems. This Training Administrator role will develop, plan, organize, implement, and administer agency training policies and procedures, in accordance with MPCTC, COMAR, and departmental guidelines. The incumbent will oversee daily training operations for Case Management staff, ensuring compliance with agency standards.
Responsibilities- Implement the yearly training schedule.
- Evaluate the efficiency of training.
- Recommend revisions to policies and training curriculum.
- Ensure staff complete annual training requirements.
Education:
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
- Experience:
Five years of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
- Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.
- Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.
- Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
- Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possession of a current Instructor Certification from the Maryland Police Correctional Training Commission (MPCTC).
- At least one year of experience training adults in the Public Safety/Criminal Justice work environment.
- Experience using the Blue Peak databases.
Employees may be required to operate a motor vehicle and must hold a valid Maryland driver’s license.
