Part‑Time Licensed Behavioral Health Professional
Innovative Therapeutic Services (ITS) is seeking a Licensed Behavioral Health Professional to provide mental health services to children and adolescents in a juvenile detention center setting. This role involves working with youth diagnosed with a range of Axis I disorders, including anxiety, depression, and ADHD. The ideal candidate is a licensed behavioral health professional in Maryland with experience in juvenile justice settings, committed to delivering trauma‑informed, ethical, and high‑quality care.
Onboarding and required training are expected to begin in February 2026, with staff assuming full clinical roles effective March 1, 2026

- Conduct individual therapy and assessments for 8–12 youth weekly
- Perform suicide risk screenings within 2 hours of admission
- Complete psychosocial intake screenings, including the MAYSI‑2, within 24 hours of admission
- Monitor the suicide log daily and provide daily visits for youth on suicide watch
- Review housing classification within 24 hours of admission
- Follow up on prior victimization within 14 days
- Sign and maintain all required clinical documentation
- Provide individual, group, and family engagement services, including supportive counseling at least every other week for 45–60 minutes
- Conduct weekly psycho educational groups (1 hour) for youth
- Complete seclusion observation forms and crisis behavioral health referral forms in the youth’s record the same day
- Attend clinical staff meetings as scheduled
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work
- Licensed in the state of Maryland in good standing (LCSWC, LMSW, LGPC, or LCPC)
- Minimum of 3 years counseling experience
- Experience working with children and adolescents in a juvenile detention center preferred
- Experience conducting psychosexual evaluations preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet‑based systems*
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willing to complete a federal and state background check
- Reliable transportation

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities

Our multidisciplinary team provides high‑quality psychotherapy, psychiatric rehabilitation, and medication management grounded in trauma‑informed and client‑centered care. As part of our strategic expansion, ITS is extending mental health services throughout Department of Juvenile Services (DJS) centers across Maryland.
