Med Star Health is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our team at Med Star Health Urgent Care! The ideal candidate will be a certified Medical Assistant with excellent customer service and patient interaction skills. Our Urgent Cares are open 7 days a week from 8AM to 8PM. The schedule involves 3 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends, varying month to month.
The Medical Assistant will perform clinical and administrative duties under the supervision of a physician/provider and/or a registered nurse. Responsibilities include venipuncture, medication and vaccine administration, vital signs measurement and documentation, assisting with patient exams, and providing telephone and clerical support.
This position may involve floating to other sites within the system.

Primary Duties:- High School Diploma or GED.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants within 1 year or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through American Medical Technologists within 1 year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience in an ambulatory care medical office or similar setting.
- Externship in a medical or ambulatory health setting is strongly preferred.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Externship at Med Star Health may substitute for experience.
- For Cardiology offices: 6 months of ambulatory care experience, or a related degree, or completion of a cardiac technician course is preferred.
The hiring range for this position is $19.17 - $33.08 per hour.
