For peers who are not certified, the pay range is $18.00 - $20.00 per hour. For certified peers, the pay range is $21.00- $22.00 per hour.

Shifts:

7:00AM-3:00PM, 3:00PM-11:00PM, and 11:00PM-7:00AM | On as needed Basis

Provide behavioral health and substance use counseling services that support clients during treatment, including assessment, counseling, and care planning.

About Us

CarePoint Response, Inc. (CPR) is a nonprofit organization providing behavioral health crisis response services in Baltimore, including telephone crisis support, mobile crisis response teams, residential crisis services, and medical detoxification services. Since 1992, CPR has provided behavioral health crisis intervention and substance use treatment services for individuals experiencing mental health or substance use crises in Baltimore.

The Opportunity

CarePoint is seeking a Peer Recovery Specialist to join our frontline crisis intervention team at the Substance Use Urgent Care Center. There are part-time, full-time, and PRN positions available. As a Peer Recovery Specialist, you will assess, evaluate, and perform crisis intervention techniques and develop crisis plans to support the continuation of services for individuals in crisis. The Peer Recovery Specialist is responsible for documentation and serves as an on-site resource for relevant clinical information, while also acting as a liaison with families, friends, first responders, and community providers.

What

You’ll Do
  • Self-identify as a Peer and provide peer support to consumers and families.
  • Assist in conducting substance use crisis assessments, including overdose risk, withdrawal symptoms, suicide risk, safety concerns, harm reduction, and environmental factors impacting recovery.
  • Create appropriate referral recommendations and develop treatment plans using available agency and community resources.
  • Complete documentation in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as appropriate federal, state, and county regulations.
Qualifications:

What We Require
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and at least two (2) years of related experience.
  • Peer Recovery Specialist Certification (CPRS) or willingness to be certified within a one (1) year of employment.
  • At least two (2) years in full recovery AND three (3) years of lived experience with mental illness, substance abuse, or a co-occurring disorder.
  • Valid driver’s license.
