The Health Services Cost Review Commission (HSCRC) seeks an Executive Director to lead Maryland's unique healthcare financing system and administer the AHEAD Model payment reform initiative. This position requires strategic oversight of a 47-member multidisciplinary staff and navigation of complex relationships with state and federal regulators, hospitals, payers, and community stakeholders. The Executive Director will serve as chief architect for Maryland's innovative global budget model and healthcare payment transformation.
Keyqualifications:
- Master's degree in Health Care Policy, Public Policy, Economics, Health Services Administration/Research, Finance, or related field plus seven years of analytical and quantitative work in health polic
- Ph.D. in a related field may substitute for three years of required experience
- Ten years of professional experience in health policy development, health economics, or healthcare financing may substitute for formal education requirements
- Proven experience directing a health-related professional staff
- Five years of experience developing and implementing hospital global budget policies or similarly complex value-based payment policies (preferred)
