Position: Mental Health Services Clinician; Trauma Liaison (Student Health and Well Being - Mental Health Service)

Student Health and Well-Being (SHWB) Mental Health Services at Johns Hopkins University seeks an energetic, organized, and motivated Mental Health Services Clinician, Trauma Liaison to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment focused on delivering innovative mental healthcare and supporting the well-being of a diverse community of learners. The Mental Health Services Clinician, Trauma Liaison, serves as an MHS liaison and resource for trauma-informed care, with particular responsibility for developing and maintaining partnerships with University offices supporting students and learners impacted by trauma.

Key partnerships include Gender-Based Violence Prevention, the Office of Institutional Equity/Title IX, the Sexual Violence Advisory Committee, and other relevant University programs and offices.

The Mental Health Services Clinician focuses primarily on generalist clinical service delivery, along with expertise in consultation, outreach, relationship development, and interdisciplinary collaboration as essential mental health interventions. In the Trauma Liaison role, the clinician supports MHS and University efforts to strengthen trauma-informed practices, improve pathways to mental health care for students impacted by traumatic experiences, and develop sustained partnerships with offices whose work frequently intersects with trauma and recovery.

The clinician serves as a primary point of contact regarding MHS services, access pathways, scope of care, referral processes, and coordination of mental health support for campus partners addressing trauma-related student needs.

As with all staff within Mental Health Services, the Mental Health Services Clinician operates as a generalist who provides a full range of clinical services, including initial consultations, goal-directed counseling, workshops, groups, and crisis intervention. Trauma-informed assessment and treatment are incorporated within this generalist model and are understood as shared clinical competencies across MHS rather than services associated exclusively with the liaison position.

The Trauma Liaison brings additional knowledge and experience related to trauma-informed care and contributes to consultation, professional development, service development, and interdisciplinary collaboration while supporting the development of trauma expertise across the broader MHS team.
