Certified Peer Specialist

Job Description

Provide peer support services across residential and outpatient settings under the guidance of a clinical supervisor, drawing on lived experience to support individuals in their recovery and well-being.

• Deliver individual peer support sessions in residential and outpatient settings.
• Facilitate peer-led support groups and wellness workshops.
• Participate in community outreach activities.
• Use active listening, empathy, and cultural competence to build supportive relationships.
• Apply trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, recovery planning, and crisis intervention practices.
• Help individuals navigate community resources.
• Complete accurate case documentation.
• Collaborate with and report to the clinical supervisor.

• One or more years of experience in peer support services.
• Completion of a peer support training program.
• Certified Peer Specialist credential.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, recovery planning, and crisis intervention.
• Skills in community resource navigation and case documentation.
• Strong active listening, empathy, and cultural competence.
