MS Access Developer (IT Applications Developer)
Location:
The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), Department of Budget & Financial Analysis
Position Type:
Temporary/Part-Time/Non-Benefited
Responsibilities:
- Analyze the needs of internal departments and assist staff and leadership with development of Microsoft (MS) Access databases, including but not limited to tables, queries, forms, and reports.
- Develop MS Access/Excel VBA programs to perform tasks automatically.
- Analyze complex data to develop automated reporting.
- Create or edit new and/or existing macros to work with large amounts of data.
- Design and implement applications using the Power Platform and SharePoint:
Power Apps, Power Automate, Power
BI. - Review code to ensure best practices are in place and follow business unit naming conventions.
- Update, repair, optimize and maintain existing code using SQL.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Administration, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Two (2) years of related database experience, preferably in MS Access and working knowledge of MS SQL.
Other: May consider a combination of directly related experience and education.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Strong understanding of MS Access database tool design and relational databases for medium‑sized applications.
- Skilled in creating complex queries, forms and outputs using MS Access.
- Knowledgeable in working with large databases and designing security/access.
- Database task automation using VBA and macros.
- Knowledgeable in working with Microsoft Dataverse.
- Good technical knowledge on designing and developing enterprise applications using Microsoft Power Platform.
Hourly Rate Range: $35.77/hr - $37.88/hr.
